Project Update: Colombia – July 2026

The MPI-supported Bible workers in Colombia are doing a wonderful job of reaching into the community and winning souls to Christ. Sometimes the greatest miracles begin with simple acts of kindness.
Jesús never imagined that a friendly neighbor could change his life. For years, his days had followed a familiar routine. Then Romelia moved into the neighborhood, and her cheerful spirit and genuine concern for others won her many friends. Soon friendly Romelia invited the neighbors to her home for a time of fellowship, Bible study, and prayer. Jesús accepted.
Every Tuesday afternoon, when the neighbors gathered at Romelia’s place, they learned something new about God’s Word. Jesús eagerly looked forward to every meeting. He loved the songs they sang together, the kindness of the whole group, and the new truths he learned through their Bible studies. He especially appreciated the friendships he was developing, some of them with people from Romelia’s church. His interest in spiritual things grew as his sense of belonging deepened.
In time, Romelia invited her study group to join a series of special Bible meetings at her home where many came to understand the deeper truths of the God’s Word: the Sabbath, the state of the dead, hellfire, Jesus’ second coming, and Ellen White’s prophetic gift. Conviction deepened in Jeśus’s heart. Finally, he started coming to church on Sabbath. There he met Pastor Alexander and his wife. Through more Bible stories, sermons, and uplifting music, he continued to learn about the love of Jesus. The messages spoke to his heart in a powerful way.
Pastor Alexander made an appeal one Sabbath for those who desired to surrender their lives to Christ. Though Jesús admits he did not understand every doctrine perfectly, he clearly understood one thing: he wanted Jesus in his life, and he wanted to be baptized.
The day of his baptism brought great joy, gratitude, and hope. Surrounded by friends who had supported and encouraged him, he publicly gave his life to Christ. Since his baptism, Jesús has continued growing in his faith. Each Sabbath he eagerly prepares for church, often ready hours before it is time to leave. He treasures every opportunity to worship, learn, and spend time with the church family that welcomed him with open arms.
Jeśus’s story is a beautiful reminder that God often works through ordinary people to accomplish extraordinary things. A neighbor’s invitation, a living room Bible study, a kind word, or simple friendship can become the means through which someone discovers Jesus.
