Project Update: Zambia – October 2026
A few years ago, as I read the familiar story of the woman at the well, something caught my attention in a new way. After her encounter with Jesus, the Samaritan woman hurried back into the city, crying, “Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?” John 4:29.
Her excitement created such an interest that the people left the city and came out to see Jesus. When they arrived, Jesus was still sitting at the well. The woman’s trip to fetch water resulted in many people meeting the Messiah. I wondered: Could a well become a center of influence still today?

In many areas of Africa, people walk long distances every day to procure water for their families. Some communities suffer greatly during the dry season when their usual water sources dry up. What if we provided wells in some of these dry areas and then placed Bible workers nearby to minister to the people who came for water? We decided to try it, drilling wells in some of the driest areas of Africa. We prayed that these wells, which provided clean water for desperate communities, would also become a place where people could encounter Jesus, the Living Water.

God has answered those prayers abundantly. Over the past three years, more than 11,000 people have been baptized, 45 new congregations have been planted, and 80 evangelistic meetings have been conducted by the church planters working near the wells. The wells have opened opportunities for Bible workers and evangelists to share the everlasting gospel with entire communities. People come to the wells for clean water, but they also make friends with the workers there. Bible studies are started, and once people are interested, evangelistic meetings are held.
This year alone, through your support, 30 evangelistic campaigns have been conducted and 2,324 precious souls have been baptized into Christ. Even more exciting, 14 new congregations have been established. Before the meetings begin, Bible workers visit homes, give Bible studies, pray with families, and prepare hearts to receive the message. Evangelists then publicly proclaim the Word of God, and afterward the Bible workers remain to nurture the new believers and help strengthen the growing congregations.
This is why Bible workers are so important to everything we do. An evangelistic campaign may last only a few weeks, but a faithful Bible worker can remain in a community month after month, building relationships and helping establish a permanent work.

Thank you for making this work possible through your prayers and faithful financial support. Because you have chosen to partner with MPI, wells are being drilled, Bible workers are being sent, evangelistic meetings are being conducted, new congregations are being established, and thousands of people are making decisions for Christ.
Please pray that God will provide the resources to drill more wells and send more Bible workers to the communities that are still waiting to hear the Three Angels’ Messages. For $8,000, you can drill a well and conduct an evangelistic series, and for $100 per month you can station a Bible worker in an area without Seventh-day Adventists. Please mark your gifts “Zambia Wells” or “Zambia Workers.”
Yours in delivering the water of life to thirsty souls!
