Project Update: Uganda – February 2026
“Having put his hand to the plow, [Elisha] was resolved not to turn back, and through test and trial he proved true to this trust.” Conflict and Courage, 222.
Mr. Ndyamusiima never imagined that renting out his land would change his life forever. One afternoon, a knock at his door woke him from a nap. Two well-dressed gentlemen explained that they were Seventh-day Adventists looking to rent land for an evangelistic campaign. They hoped to use his property as a venue for Bible meetings.
Mr. Ndyamusiima had been raised Roman Catholic and knew nothing about Adventist beliefs. All he saw in the offer was some unexpected cash. After agreeing on the terms, one of the men offered a short prayer and handed Mr. Ndyamusiima an invitation. “Don’t miss out,” he whispered.
Curious, Mr. Ndyamusiima attended the first meeting. He had not expected to hear anything of real interest, but the preacher explained the Bible so clearly and powerfully that Ndyamusiima returned home eager to share what he had learned. He invited his family to attend the next meeting with him, but they seemed indifferent.
Right at that moment, four young people arrived at the door. Smiling and confident, they said, “We are here to invite you to the Bible study at Kibonwa Trading Center.” His children talked with them and were impressed with their knowledge of the Scriptures. The next evening, Mr. Ndyamusiima and his children attended the meeting together. Only his wife stayed behind.

Night after night, the Bible studies convicted and challenged Mr. Ndyamusiima. He realized that for 55 years he had been walking in spiritual darkness. “I discovered the importance of keeping God’s commandments,” he says. As he saw his Catholic beliefs exposed as gross errors, he knew he could not continue living as before.
After much prayer and many Bible studies with the workers, Mr. Ndyamusiima and his children made their decision. Along with 70 others, they were baptized—and from that group, a new church was born. The young congregation had very little, but God provided. They received a donation of 70 plastic chairs, two tables, and floor mats to use during worship. A dedicated Bible worker named Mr. Onysmus followed up with interested families, visiting homes and nurturing new believers.

Not everyone rejoiced in the Ndyamusiima family’s conversion. His wife’s opposition was painful and intense. In her own distress, she attempted to take her life. “The spiritual battle felt very real,” he says. All that night, he stayed with her, guarding her and praying earnestly for her healing and conversion.
“Today, I remain firm in my decision,” he says. “No matter how strong the opposition or how painful the trials, I have purposed in my heart to be a disciple of Jesus. I have found the Pearl of Great Price, and I cannot turn back.”
Please pray for the Ndyamusiima family and for the workers in Uganda as they continue their evangelistic efforts. Consider partnering with us to finish the work in the Southwestern Uganda Field by marking your donation “Uganda Evangelism” or “Uganda Churches.”
Yours in staying faithful to God’s truth!
