Project Update: Togo – January 2026
“Christ feels the woes of every sufferer. When evil spirits rend a human frame, Christ feels the curse. When fever is burning up the life current, He feels the agony. And He is just as willing to heal the sick now, as when He was personally on earth. Christ’s servants are His representatives, the channels for His working. He desires through them to exercise His healing power.” Desire of Ages, 823.
Passike was born in a small village in Togo, where life was difficult and opportunities were limited. As a child, he struggled deeply. He misbehaved in school, skipped classes, disrespected authority, and avoided helping his parents on the farm. He kept the wrong friends and was frequently involved in fights. His behavior brought constant pain and suffering to his family, along with concern about his future.

When Christians tried to reach Passike, he mocked them and dismissed their message. After all, what could Christianity offer to an animist like him? He staked his life on the traditions of the village elders, and the spirits of the departed controlled him. To him, there was nothing better.
After primary school, Passike moved into the city of Sotouboua to attend secondary school. There his life took a frightening turn. In his first year, he became seriously ill. Despite repeated hospital visits, his condition did not improve. His family spent what little they had seeking help, but answers never came. Eventually, in desperation, his parents turned to traditional witchdoctors. Sacrifices were brought to the “healer,” but Passike’s health continued to deteriorate. Hope abandoned him, and he believed his life would soon end.

One day, as he sat outside his parent’s house, a Bible worker stopped and greeted Passike. Handing him a pamphlet, he said, “I hope you will read this. It can change your life.” That pamphlet, which explained basic health principles, contained the very words Passike needed. For the first time, he understood that his illness might be linked to what he was eating and how he was living. With guidance from Bible worker Jonas, he made changes. He stopped eating unclean meats and followed the health principles he was learning. Slowly, his strength returned. The attacks stopped. His health was restored—without costly medication or additional hospital stays.
Physical healing opened the door to spiritual healing. Passike began Bible studies with Jonas and experienced genuine care from believers who prayed for him, encouraged him, and walked with him through recovery. Their support made a lasting difference. Today, Passike is healthy and deeply grateful. He is in his final year of college—something he never thought possible. His life was redirected because someone cared enough to stop, share literature, and invest time in one struggling young man.

This is the power of mission outreach. One pamphlet. One visit. One faithful worker. One transformed life. Togo is a stronghold of Satan, but your gifts are keeping eight Bible workers tirelessly laboring to turn many to righteousness and away from their traditions and superstitions. Please continue to help preach the Three Angels’ Messages to the people of Togo! Mark your gift “Togo Workers” or “Togo Evangelism.”
Yours in breaking the strongholds of darkness!
