Letter from Mike: Kenya – July 2024
“The greatest want of the world is the want of men,—men who will not be bought or sold; men who in their inmost souls are true and honest; men who do not fear to call sin by its right name; men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle to the pole; men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.” Education, 57.
Lelsotet, Kenya had no Seventh-day Adventists until Bible worker John came to the area. Through prayer, perseverance and exhausting labor, God has given John a “door of opportunity” to win many souls to His Kingdom. John started his work the same as many others have done, by walking door-to-door with tracts and Bible studies. In short order, he started Bible studies with five individuals. In time, they all gave their hearts to Jesus and were baptized. Banding together, this small group of dedicated believers knelt before the Lord and petitioned Him to work out the details of their attack on the kingdom of darkness. They wanted others to share in the peace and blessings of the Lord!
Having his feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace and armed with the sword of the Spirit, John set out door-to-door again. This time, so many families opened their doors and invited him to conduct Bible studies that he soon had more appointments than he could handle. Every evening, he studied the Bible with people late into the night.

Among the remarkable converts was Peter, a staunch Sunday keeper who served as a chaplain at a school belonging to the Free Methodist Church. Peter, along with his wife Sharon and his brother’s wife Beatrice, warmly welcomed John into their homes for regular Bible studies. Through numerous visits and deep discussions, they finally decided to accept the truths they had discovered, despite Peter’s position within a Sunday church.
As news spread of Peter’s decision to abandon his former faith and embrace the Seventh-day Adventist message, challenges arose. Peter lost his job, and people in the community mocked him for choosing a church that could not provide for his financial well-being. In the face of these adversities, Peter and his family remained steadfast in their commitment to their newfound faith, prioritizing spiritual truths over worldly comforts.
Peter and Sharon are laboring to reach souls with the precious truths that have brought comfort and hope to their hearts, and now scores of people in Lelsotet have sacrificed all to follow Jesus and the precious truths of the Bible. Please pray for the work in Kenya and for those who are winning souls to Jesus. Pray for John as he strengthens the new believers in the faith, and for Peter and Sharon as they share God’s last warning of Revelation 14 with others.
Please consider supporting the Bible workers in Kenya as they reach new communities with the Three Angels’ Messages. To give, mark your donations “Kenya Workers” or “Kenya Churches.”
Yours in proclaiming God’s last warning!
