On the Wings of the Air

Radio evangelism expands the gospel’s reach in Uganda!

“Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on earth, to every nation, tribe, tongue and people.” Revelation 14:6. The picture of the three flying angels makes me believe that their messages will be carried on the wings of the air—like the radio waves. That is why I am so thankful that your donations have increased the reach of Messenger FM to many more communities. I am especially eager to reach the Muslims in our broadcast area. I long to see many more misguided souls join the ranks of Christ’s church!

This past year of managing Messenger FM has been full of challenges, especially at the beginning. The financial demands, communications commission regulations and other hurdles made it seem that our evangelistic station would not likely make it. After a month of prayer and fasting, the station still was not fully operating. Yet by God’s grace, we got on the air at last.

At the end of every broadcast, we offer Bible studies or a free book. With the help of Mission Projects International, we hired a full-time Bible worker to follow up with the people who respond. It has been amazing to see how God is using the radio waves to catch the attention of people in places where there is no Adventist presence, including in the hard to reach Muslim communities. At least six Muslims have been baptized this year, along with hundreds of converts from other denominations!

Our radio messages have become so popular that other local radio stations have become interested in broadcasting the everlasting gospel. In fact, the national radio station has given our Bible worker 30 minutes of free preaching every Sabbath morning! What an opportunity to disseminate the Three Angels’ Messages nationwide!

In addition to the national radio’s weekly preaching slot, another station in Bushenyi offered us free airtime once a day for a month. For these special broadcasts, I focused my messages on unlocking Bible prophecies of hope. At the end of the month-long radio event, 53 souls were baptized into the Kingdom of God. With help from Mission Projects International, we gave Bibles and Bible study guides to each of them to enhance their spiritual growth.

“Opportunities are within the reach of everyone. Take up the work that should be done in your neighborhood, for which you are held responsible . . . If you are thoroughly consecrated, through your instrumentality He will bring into the truth others whom he can use as channels to convey light to many souls in darkness.” Adventist Home, 488.

At Messenger FM Radio, we are committed to seeking opportunities in our neighborhood and taking them up. The time is now! We cannot wait, because the enemy uses every minute we wait to lead souls into darkness—souls whom God wants to bring into His light. Please pray often for us, that God will keep opening opportunities for us to preach the Three Angels’ Messages in unentered areas and closed communities. Pray that the radio messages, on the wings of the air, will win the hearts of many people who have been hard to reach!
